Mike Hulbert
PGA Director of Golf

Originally from Rochester, NY, Mike has held prominent positions throughout his career in distinguished private golf clubs throughout Florida and New York. In his fourth year as our Director of Golf, he has been a PGA Certified Golf Professional for over 25 years.

Mike has a proven ability to build long-term professional relationships with both members and guests. His leadership and mentoring skills have led numerous Assistants on to successful Head Professional positions. Each season, he administers two multi-day golf schools with Top 100 Instructors from around the country. Mike resides in Coral Gables.

Jason Richter
GCSAA Head Superintendent

Born in North Carolina and having grown up in Cleveland, Ohio, Jason joined the Fisher Island team in March 2017. He graduated from Virginia Tech in 2011 with a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Turfgrass Management.  His first passion was golf course construction; however, in 2015 he transitioned into golf course maintenance.  After a couple successful seasons at Card Sound Golf Club (Key Largo, FL) and The Polo Club of Boca Raton, we welcomed him as our 1st Assistant.  Jason now has been promoted to our Head Superintendent, and his passion for the game and course conditioning is evident already.  Jason and his wife, Samantha, have a dog, Ace, reside in Ft. Lauderdale and enjoy spending time with family.

Dave Ayyar
PGA Assistant Golf Professional

Currently a registered PGA Associate in Level 3 of the Professional Golf Management program, Dave joined the Fisher Island Club Team in 1998. An accomplished junior player and a four year starter at Florida International University, Dave has competed in many local professional tournaments and has instructed players of all ages and skill levels.  Dave resides in Palmetto Bay.

Charlie Starrs
PGA Assistant Golf Professional

Currently a registered PGA Associate in Level 3 of the Professional Golf Management program, Charlie joined the Fisher Island Club Team in 2004.  His teaching accomplishments include providing quality instruction to many junior golfers from all over the world.  Prior to Fisher Island, Charlie worked with children with special needs at International Links of Miami, the Special Olympics and the 1st Tee of Miami.  A Registered Club Fitter and custom club builder, he is also an accomplished player.  He has competed on NGA / Hooters Golf Tour, South Florida Mini Tour and the Coca – Cola professional golf tour.  Charlie resides in Coral Gables with his wife, Lourdes, and two children, Patrick & Gracie.

Tyler Johnson
Assistant Course Superintendent

Originally from Memphis, TN, Tyler joined Fisher Island in October of 2018. An avid golfer from a young age, Tyler participated in Mid-South Junior Golf Association/The First Tee of Memphis until college working on golf courses throughout the summers. After graduating from Tennessee Technological University in 2013 with a Bachelors in Agriculture, with an emphasis in Turfgrass Management, He interned at Card Sound Golf Club. Previous to working at Fisher Island , he also worked at Quail Ridge Country Club as an Integrated Pest Management Manager and an Assistant Superintendent at The Polo Club of Boca Raton. Tyler resides in North Miami.

Phil Calderone
Golf Shop Manager

A native of Miami, Phil is celebrating his 23rd year of dedicated service to the Fisher Island Club.  He has a degree in Education from Florida Atlantic University.  Phil handles our ordering/ receiving of all apparel, hard goods and miscellaneous golf shop items.  His consistent thoroughness of special orders makes shopping in our golf shop easy.   An avid horse follower, Phil resides in Hallandale.

Olivier Gilmartin
PGA Assistant Golf Professional

Currently a registered PGA Associate in Level 1 of the Professional Golf Management program, Olivier joined the Fisher Island Club Team in 2017.  Olivier has competed in the US Amateur, British Amateur and Australian Amateur. He won The Basel Championship in Switzerland in 2007 and 2008 and played for the Swiss National Team from 2006 - 2008.  In November 2010, he turned professional and competed for 8 years on several tours including PGA Tour Canada, Nordic League (Scandinavia), Pro Golf Tour (Germany), Alps Tour (Central Europe) and Jamega Tour (United Kingdom).  His background comes from working with world-renowned teachers encompassing goal-setting, tournament analysis, fitness, practicing with a purpose, drills & competitive games.   Olivier resides in Miami Beach.

Mike Long
PGA Assistant Golf Professional

Originally from Geneva, NY, Mike graduated from St. John Fisher College in 2019 with a Degree in Finance.  He competed collegiately for St. John Fisher and previously at Monroe Community College.  An avid competitor, Mike recently competed in the prestigious Monroe Invitational, Rochester District Golf Association Championship, and NYS Amateur.  Mike spent last summer at Geneva Country Club as the Professional Shop Manager where he posted a new course record of 60 in August. His previous golf employments of caddying at Oak Hill Country Club and Golf Shop Assistant at Locust Hill Country Club, both in Rochester, NY bring great knowledge of the golf business to Fisher Island Club.

Andrew Fedele
PGA Assistant Golf Professional

Originally from Rochester, NY, Andrew graduated from St. John Fisher College in 2019 with a Degree in Business Management.  He competed collegiately at both St. John Fisher and Division II Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester from 2015-2017.  An avid competitor, Andrew competes in many tournaments throughout the summer.  He recently competed in the prestigious Monroe Invitational, Rochester District Golf Association Championship, and NYS Amateur.  He won the 2014 New York State Junior Amateur.  During Fisher Island’s off-season, Andrew brings work experience from both Oak Hill Country Club as a caddie, and as a Golf Shop Assistant at Brook-Lea Country Club in Rochester. Andrew is excited to join the Fisher Island Professional Team as he starts his journey through the PGA Professional program.

Kaylee Wells
PGA Assistant Golf Professional

Recently graduating from Johnson & Wales University in 2019, Kaylee joins our team as she begins her journey towards her LPGA Certification. Originally from Baiting Hollow, New York, her love for the game of golf has her aspiring to excel with Junior Instruction and Growing the Game. Besides her full-time commitment here, she is also the Assistant Golf Coach for the Johnson & Wales Girls Golf Team! Kaylee resides in North Miami. 

Britton Simmons
PGA Assistant Golf Intern

Currently a Senior in the Professional Golf Management program at California University of Pennsylvania, Britton spent his first internship at the Country Club of North Carolina and spent this past summer and fall at Monroe Golf Club in Rochester, NY.  Britton is currently completing the qualifying level of the PGA program. Britton also enjoys bowling and a big fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Ohio State Buckeyes.

Ermilia Utile
Golf Shop Attendant

Born in Haiti, Ermelia moved to Miami in 1984 and attended Miami Dorsey High School.  Ermelia joined the Fisher Island Club Team in 1993 and has been an outstanding asset to our golf operation.  She is the proud mother of 4 daughters and 3 sons and grandmother to 3 grandsons and 2 granddaughters.  Ermelia resides in North Miami with her husband of 34 years.
